Local and regional development of Ukraine: the case of Zakarpattya region
The publication analyses the experience of implementing the model of cross-sectoral cooperation to the processes of local development in Ukraine, using the example of Zakarpattya region.
To analyze the practice of local development in Zakarpattya region the following territories were chosen – city of Uzhgorod as administrative center of the region and two administrative districts – Perechin and Rakhiv, which can be defined as rural (according to the structure of economy).
The publication offers analysis of the following aspects of cross-sectoral cooperation in local development: economic development activities of local authorities; methods of budget formation and possibility to optimize interbudget relations; the role of special economic area “Zakarpattya” and Inter-regional Association “Carpathian Euroregion” as mechanisms of local economic and regional development; the role of non-governmental sector in local development processes and existing mechanisms of citizens' involvement; experience of using of using resources of international programs and various opportunities for international cooperation in local development processes.
The publication is meant for personnel of local self-government executive bodies, local council deputies, experts, scholars and practitioners of regional development.
