Local and regional development of Ukraine: the case of Poltava region
The publication contains the results of research of applying the model of cross-sectoral cooperation to processes of local development in Ukraine on the example of Poltava region. The research aims at determining ways of enhancing institutional capacity and cross-sectoral cooperation in the regional development of Poltava region, as well as resources, instruments and mechanisms of regional development, which form the basis for elaborating integrated regional development strategy for Poltava region.
The subject of analysis is Poltava region as a whole as well as certain territorial communities (city of Poltava, towns of Kremenchuk and Komsomol'sk as well as villages and settlements of Poltava region), which define the profile of the region and are unique at the same time.
The research consists of two parts. The first part deals with peculiarities of institutions and mechanisms of regional development in Poltava region and the second part describes the results of the attempt, the first one in Ukraine, to apply spacial method to analysing the development of rural territories (on the example of Poltava region).
This publication is meant for employees of local executive authorities, local council deputies, experts, scholars and practitioners of regional development.
